Weston Super Mare Beach Trip

Sunday 31st July 2016

Our latest beach trip was a great success. We had a full coach of people, with a waiting list. We were sold out very quickly due to popular demand.  It was an excellent day and the weather was mostly great. Unfortunately, it did get quite windy and the tide stayed out for quite a while, but apart from that it was a great day.

Bhajan Bhojan

Saturday 24th September 2016

The Annual Sharad Bhajan Bhojan was held on Saturday 24th September 2016 at the Shree Sanatan Seva Samaj. We had Shree Krishna Jalaram Mandel from Northolt provide us with good music and bhajan followed by Bhojan cooked by Mahilas in Luton. Some of the donations we collected that evening were donated to our local hospital – The Luton and Dunstable Hospital, the Cardiac Department.

Thank you to all that attended the event, without you these events would not be successful.

Dinner and Dance

Saturday 25th November 2016

This year we were successful to organise a dinner dance event at Stopsley working men’s club on Saturday 26 th November 2016. It was an excellent venue and we had a live music group – Rangeen Kala from Leicester. The event was well organised with dedicated volunteers of committee members as well as their family members and ran smoothly on time. All the food vegetarian and nonvegetarian was home cooked. We are very grateful to all who helped with the provision of cooking facilities and their skills. Our special thanks go to Minaben Lad for the donation of home made samosas and also taking a lead to cook vegetarian food with help from our volunteer ladies.

This was a free event and all those who attended thoroughly enjoyed it. The idea of a free event is to bring together Prajapati community together and share our common culture. It is to extend friendship and make new friends amongst us. It is also to know what you would like to do together as a community. The question of “free event” should not arise. It is financed from the donations you gave us and you should be happy to come. On this occasion, we are very grateful to the members who donated or bought raffle tickets at this event that covered all the cost. This shows you are generous Prajapatis. This encourages the Samaj management team to repeat the free event with a different theme. If you missed it last year please try to support and come this year.

Children’s Party

This year’s SPA children’s outing took place Sunday 1 December 2013.  10 children aged between 3 – 12 years were accompanied by 10 adults  to see Cinderella at the Luton Library theatre.  One child from our group was also picked from the audience to sing-a-long with the cast.  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the pantomime which was performed by Luton’s Griffin players.
